My days are still a struggle, I spend many more minutes a day thinking 'don't throw up. don't throw up. don't throw up.' than I would like.
Today I felt better enough to actually feel hungry. I haven't felt much hunger at all in the past week.
My doctor recomended taking 25 mg of vitamin b6 one to 3 times a day, and if that doesn't help, adding half a table of unisom twice a day. At least I'll sleep well...
I did manage to get through an extra long movie last night by downing starglight mints. It was a great movie - Good Shepherd. If you like spies, particularly russian spies, you will probably like this movie. Fantastic.

Bleh
(For those of you that don't know yet, sorry you have to hear this way: Bob and I are going to have a baby! It's due August 18th).
Today was the first day I actually threw up from all day morning sickness. I slept in, planning on getting to work a little late, but spent so much slowly nibbling on crackers, attempting not to be sick, and then spent so much time being sick, that I was two hours late.
I'm feeling a little better now, I ate a peice of cheese, some salad, and two starlight mints, but my stomach is still very unsettled.
5 and a half more weeks of this to go.

Updates
We're driving to Spokane tomorrow to meet the girls' mom and hand Zarah off. Thankfully we'll get to see Alex, but I wish it were for longer. We miss that kid. We'll miss having Zarah hear, but it will be good for her to see her mom and sister, and Bob and I will get to spend tons of time together and see as many movies as we can possibly squeeze in.
Christmas this year is busy busy but wonderful:
Fri Dec 22 - Christmas Party!
Sat Dec 23 - drive to Bob's parent's house
Sun Dec 24 - drive home
Mon Dec 25 - Christmas at home, breakfast with Hilmans, noon-time with Tim, Viv, Erin, Janaki, and Bryce, early evening with Brother, Kaylee, dad, and dad's dad
We gave Zarah her Christmas presents last night. (The jumping and shrieking affirmed that she liked it.) She also gave us our presents. I've not stopped listening to mine since - the Tragic Treasury by the Gothic Archies, songs to accompany A Series of Unfortunate Events. It's amazing.

leave a message after beep
I have a lot to do, but I am alone in my office, which leaves me wanting to do nothing but drink coffee and read old advice columns all day.
No, I will work.
So, the answering machines. I've come across two, one faily simple, one bizarre and long. The first lists the names and cell phone numbers of the family, tells me they will call me back as soon as possible, and then tells me "and we hope you take a likin' to the good lord today." I had to call back and leave a message the second time, I wasn't quite sure I'd heard that right. You hope I take a liking?
The second is actually the first, I heard this many times when I was calling places last summer. Or spring. This one had a brief message about leaving a message and promptly launched into a multiple-versed, varying themed mini sermon. She touched on salvation, damnation, and a few other things that didn't make any sense.
What affect do people think they are having on people with these messages? Will there ever be someone who's salvation story includes following along with a prayer for salvation on an answering machine?

incredible
I'm re-reading Don Delillo's Underworld, and I'm finding myself awed all over again. The paperback edition weighs in at 827 pages, and somehow it doesn't get tedious. Every page seems essential.
There are only a few times I have teared up soley from the beauty of something. Once was a harmony - a blend of two or three parts that was so perfect and lovely it made me cry a little. Another was a sentence in this book. It's not a sad sentence, slightly homesick I suppose, but not sad. It made me teary because it was so well written. Not because of the subject, the context, my own memories, just it's quality.
No, I won't put it up here, out of it's proper place it won't have the same beauty and power, but if you're looking for something amazing to read, this is it. If you're looking for something amazing to read that is more normal of a length and haven't already, read his book, White Noise. Amazing.
